Algamo
The limited liability company Algamo Ltd. was established in 2011 in the Czech Republic and is a producer and supplier of Haematococcus pluvialis alga and astaxanthin oleoresin.
The company specializes in algae cultivation and subsequent active substances extraction. These active substances are used in cosmetic industry, pharmaceutical industry and in dietary supplements production.
The production plant is based in the “Krkonoše” mountains foothills in the Czech Republic, approximately 130 km northeast of Prague.
Algamo’s facility is located in close neighborhood to the biomass power plant – MOSTEK energo, which serves as the only source of electric power and heat.
Thanks to this fact, Algamo is assured to be all sustainable energy project. In the proximity of both projects, the own water source is located, which is accessible only by the Algamo project.

King of carotenoids
Astaxanthin is the strongest known antioxidant belonging to the carotenoid group. In nature, it is found, for instance, in algae, salmon, lobster, prawns and flamingo feathers. These organisms are coloured orange to red depending on their content of astaxanthin. Scientists claim that astaxanthin gives salmon the strength and stamina to overcome their long journeys upriver and up through waterfalls. Countless comparative studies have proven astaxanthin to be the strongest natural antioxidant ever found.
Many scientific studies have demonstrated that astaxanthin has beneficial effects not only on the muscles, cardiovascular system, eyes and brain, but also on the immune system and the skin.
